Lenah Farms Wastewater Treatment Plant - Loudoun County, Virginia
Services:Forcemain Realignment Wastewater Facilities Design Wastewater Feasibility Study Water System Design Waterline Relocation Wastewater from the Lenah Farms Subdivision in Loudoun County is treated by a wastewater treatment plant using the extended aeration process followed by a denitrification filter as pretreatment to a mass drainfield using a low pressure distribution system. The plant consists of two trains of the process followed by a flow equalization basin. Each train represents half of the overall capacity. Design provided for a 92,000 gallon wastewater treatment facility with a Phase I flow of 46,000 GPD. Additional wastewater treatment capacity will be provided once the facility reaches 80% of its design flow. Records are kept of daily flow rates and monthly levels of ammonia, TKN, BOD and TSS to predict when additional capacity or additional treatment will be required. The treatment plant effluent is disposed of by a mass subsurface disposal system. There are 22 individual drainfields, totaling approximately 7.8 acres. Bury performed the soils analysis for all of the mass drainfield areas. A rate study for use by the LCSA to determine user fees was also performed by Bury. The mass drainfield system for this project was originally designed as a drip system but was changed to a low pressure distribution system (LPD).
