Due to the facility's age and the increased flow to the plant, the facility frequently experiences overflows, and has trouble meeting the TCEQ surface loading requirements. An additional clarifier, 30 feet in diameter was designed to meet the minimum surface loading rate as required by TCEQ rules for peak flows at the facility. The chlorine contact basin was added to disinfect the effluent from the new clarifier. The bar screen was replaced due to the age and condition of the existing structure. These additions add duality to the facility making it easier for future repair and maintenance on the existing system.

This project will help the City to provide many additional years of quality treatment and meet the TCEQ regulations.
